We have been following the progress of the Smoking Ban Petition from the beginning, and think it is time to get organized on this issue. We recently formed a SPAC (Specific purpose Political Action Committee) to help organize those opposed to the petition as it stands and the direction we see it going.
We encourage all of you out there that feel the same way to join us in our efforts to bring about the defeat of what is currently before us today and develop a fair, balanced local solution for tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteI am trying to picture some cop dragging Dusty Little out from under whatever car he's working on and busting him for smoking. The size of the knot on officer's head would probably be directly related to whether Dusty was holding a 9/16ths or a 19 mm wrench at the time!
Look, if you and Joe were to visit my house, I would offer you an ashtray (possibly an adult beverage) if you wished. If thee, me and Joe went to visit say Councilman Morrison, just for instance, I'm sure we would never dream of firing up and stinking up his home.
The right accrues to the property owner and taxpayer, not the smoker/non-smoker. I don't pay your taxes, I don't pay your mortgage (if you have one) I don't make your payroll. I wouldn't dream of telling your top hand whether or not to smoke, chew or whatever, that's YOUR decision. Somehow, I don't see a lot of brats wandering around your shop.
We are open for business. Any contribution, monetary or in-kind will be honestly spent and accounted for.
Wouldn't look for things to get frisky until about September, but no, any donations will not be going to a numbered Swiss account in my name, it will go to ads, ink-on-dead-trees, etc. Not my first rodeo.
